City of Angels

From the Land of the City of Angels also known as Krung Thep or Bangkok....

hahahahahahhaha

TIPS! tips from the City of Angels:

#01 that's IF you are heading down for a shopping SPREEEEEE.....

RULE101 >> Firsst stop, MBK!! Mah Boon Krong

As everyone has said before, this is the place you Gotta Go in Bangkok. else

its as though you have never been to the City of Angels.

Visit this place FIRST if your itinerary is all about shopping and shopping and

shopping... else, you will certainly regret. It has such variety and many young-people stuffs at cheaper prices. i.e. other shopping centers cater more to the exquisite shoppers and other places doesnt seem any bit cheaper than home; unless you are looking for something unique, something not found here, such at the PEPSI botique! yesh! there's a PEPSI Cola botique, nvr heard of huh! suag-guey!! Hhaahahaa

Erhmmmm… maybe hk is better paradise…

#02 VAT: theres goods and services tax too on the City of Angels. However, you may make be able to claim them back. BUT!! heed this : Successful claims only from 5000B and above.. so.... combine your various receipts together lah! and claim them instead of separate forms. The VAT office at the airport doesnt accept any form wad-so-ever even if you hold on to a stack of claim form that could total to above 5000B. REMEMBER! only a form that is above 5000B would be entertained!

#03 TAXIs! REQUEST REQUEST REQUEST metered taxi charges... this is because you ought to deserve being "slash on the throad aka Kah!" if you agree on a fix price before setting off.... some hideous drivers simply charge you a price that's twice or even 2.5 times the actual amount. They know u are tourist! its kahKAHkah!!! huat arh!! no wonder they are always grinning at the end of the taxi ride....u bodoh!!!

#04 WAT visits. Covered shoes and cover cover cover!!! cover everybit of your body in a decent manner if you wish to enter most temples, especially the one at the Grand Palace. Showing respect for the places you intend to visit, else you be denied access!! hahah! tats basic courtesy from us anywah-laa...

AND!! if you are going on any WATs visits, please train up!! hahahah else you will soon find yourself aching all over your quadriceps ... you need strong legs especially at Wat Arun. A beautiful sight to hold which needs strong legs to climb…

#05 Loh-Be-Tuah 路边摊 roadside stalls. There are Plenty of LBTs anywhere you go at night and even so during the day! and there's certain no worry if your stomach cannot take its hygiene. We believe its certainly safe enough for your tummy! we savored plenty of mouth watering LBT food! hahaha~ Anw, the thing is, all LBTs taste GREAT and most of all, they are all sooo CHEAP! 20B ;10B only!  and all soo YUMMY err.. except if you arent a chilly lover... or perhaps if you do not like asam chilly. We had an encounter with asam chilly... hieuuuuu.... we nvr take a second bite.

Recommendation: there's a pork knuckle LBT outside Isetan that's Perfect and heavenly! for 100B you get a big portion already, and with 300B you get the entire pork kunckle! there's vege to go along, so don worry abt an unhealthy diet. PLenty of veges for you!!! no worry abt GS the next day…. Ahhahahha

*GS = gek sai (constipation)

#06 Chilling out... TRy this place : Moon Cafe at Vertigo (Banyang Tree Hotel Bangkok). Located along SathongRoad, a place south of Silom Market, within walking distance and should you decide to ride a taxi from Silom night Market, it should not cost you more than 50B! Remember don be fooled by accepting fix fare.

Moon Cafe at Vertigo is the only rooftop restaurant-cafe that doesnt have a roof about this restaurant. (like huh?!? doesnt rooftop means no roof already then?) HAHAHAha yes, this is the only restaurant that is Really built on the roof top of the hotel. At 61st floor, you get to watch the entire Bangkok city while sipping your drinks. Certainly worth going and drinks arent really any much more expensive than here.

#07 Nightspots - Silom Market is something very much like our pasah-malam selling all kinds of item. There are plenty of thaigal shows/ pingpong show / sleazy pubs if you dare to enter! hhaha! But there are also many roadside stalls! ANW in Thailand, try one Ah-guah show lah! most expenses were spent on these shows and places of interest (Wats’ entry pass) while others were relative cheap. Even taxi fare shouldn't cost you more than 80B if you go on meter! heed well! MEter! Ohh and! watch carefully before you take any pictures, in case you need to pay-up after you’ve snapped-snapped...

#08 Hotels. Well, since its a holiday trip, dont really think further abt paying more for a good hotel. Good hotels are precious commodity in Bangkok! haha! Good location is certainly important especially if you are on a shopping itinerary because you definitely doesnt want to spend most of your time on taxis and in the jams. Bangkok is certainly a JAM city! Vehicles wheezing past you as you walk along the roads. Its definitely hazy out there and its definitely warm. As a token of appreciation from the city, you will earn the notorious tan-line for braving the heat and smoke of the city!!! Staying within the shopping belt allows you to make frequent trips back to your room to rest and relax in-between Battles! you certainly need to be pampered.

#09 Cultural aspects: Personally, i think it is  recommended briefly know Thai culture and little of history before heading over. Since BKK a relatively old city and the many many many Wats which have plenty date-ful stories to tell...

Thais regard their head to be sacred and so don play play around or hit them on the head eh...

And arh! Thais are generally trust-worthy... aiyaa... if something unpleasant happened, we can always do wad we do Best!! COMPLAIN!!!
